MTS has always positioned themselves to achieve in areas of service for our customers. We want to provide the best possible means of transportation for our customers. Through the years we have realized that the carbon black and tire industry was in need of a "just in time" delivery for their production needs. The railroad has tried for years to provide this with their hopper rail cars and have been unsuccessful. After several visits to our core customers in the carbon black industry, the need for this type of service was real and indeed needed. MTS made a capital investment to acquire "bulk trailers" for use in the carbon black and tire industry. These trailers have the ability to handle volumes to 3,000 cubic feet. They are 48 feet long and have a payload capacity of 45,000 pounds. We are able to transport three different grades in a single trailer. With customers that use a large volume of carbon black, MTS will provide drop trailers at the shipper and at the customer for drop and hook "just in time" delivery.
